Bungie has just announced a stellar deal for Destiny buyers--if you pick up the digital version of Destiny for the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, you get to download the next-gen digital version for Xbox One or Playstation 4 for free. That's two copies of Destiny for the price of one.

The deal applies to all Destiny content, too, so if you buy the Guardian edition of the game, or the Expansion Pass on Xbox 360 or PS3, you'll also get that same content on Xbox One or PS4 as well.

To be clear, those who take advantage of the promotion get to keep and use both versions of Destiny. The downloads will be tied to the same Xbox Live or PSN account, and as a result, you'll have to choose one ecosystem (Xbox or Playstation) for both copies of the game--you can't get it for PS3 and then get the Xbox One version, or vice versa. This is a great deal for those who still have an older console in a spare room and want to have Destiny playable on both.

If the above doesn't apply to you, you can still get a free copy of Destiny (or any other Xbox One game) this week!

EA Access xbox one

EA Access, the new subscription gaming service from EA, is now available to Xbox One console owners. Just log in and download the EA Access app, and you'll have unlimited access to a select grouping of EA titles for $4.99 per month, or $29.99 per year. The service launches with FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Battlefield 4, and Peggle 2. The company says there is more to come, and that one a game is added to the Vault, it stays there. So, for your money, you get unlimited access to a growing list of EA games. Additionally, EA Access members get 10% off on EA digital purchases on Xbox One. PlayStation 4 gamers are left out here, as Sony doesn't think its gamers want to pay a $5 per month all-you-can-eat subscription fee for EA content.

PS4 Xbox One Wii u games

This year, E3 had one of those showing that only happens once every 8-10 years. E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is the biggest video game conference in the world, and it's where game publishers show off what they're working on. E3 2014 was unique because it was the first one after the release of two major consoles--the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Developers got to show for the first time full portfolios dedicated to the new hardware, and it was glorious. There was a lot to see during both the Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation media briefings, and Nintendo surprised many with game announcements of its own. I figured I'd whittle things down and share the ten games I was most excited about, in no particular order.

Halo 5 guardians

Microsoft has officially announced the next entry in the Halo series in Halo 5: Guardians. Exclusive to the Xbox One, Halo 5: Guardians will star Master Chief as he begins a new journey, which was previously teased at E3 2013.

"Halo 5: Guardians" is a bigger effort than "Halo 4." That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.

You can bet that 343 Industries will take full advantage of Microsoft's Xbox Live cloud infrastructure--but probably not too much Kinect integration. I'm sure we'll know much more at E3.

Halo 5

Back in 2004, Microsoft released what many believe to be the best in the Halo series: Halo 2. Ten years later, and the rumor mill is buzzing with anticipation of a Halo 2 Anniversary Edition announcement, with the hope that it'll arrive on the Xbox One in full high definition glory later this year. The rumor originated on NeoGAF. If true, it does seem to throw a wrench into the previous plans, where Microsoft has promised to release Halo 5 in 2014. Microsoft likes to spread out Halo releases, so if a Halo 2 reboot is set for 2014, it wouldn't be hard to believe that Halo 5 would be pushed back to 2015, resulting in much disappointment. We'll update when we hear more.

jimmy fallon ps4 killzone shadowfall

Jimmy Fallon was the first to go be able to actually play the Playstation 4, live on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon got first impressions of the DualShock 4 controller that includes the touchpad and share button functionality, and got to play some Killzone: Shadow Fall with Hermen Hulst, Managing Director of Guerilla Games. As you can see, neither Jimmy, nor guest Anthony Anderson, were that impressive, but they make up for it with some laughs.

Sony introduced the world to the Playstation 4 the other day, but didn't allow anyone to go hands-on with the console. Instead, we were treated to a bunch of video packages and demos showing just how great everything would be. Heck, Sony didn't even show the actual console itself, citing that it's "just a box" and in the grand scheme of things, isn't as important as the experience itself.

Check out the video below for a look at the segment.

In light of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, the videogame community is putting down their controllers for a day of rememberance. Dubbed "The Day of Cease Fire" and organized by Antwand Pearman, editor-in-chief of GamerFitNation.com, the event is a way for gamers to show the world that they care.

Though some politicians have recently condemned videogames as one of the roots of the violence in our society, Pearman's event is by no means an extension of that misguided thought.

"There's no such thing as world peace," said Pearman. "But at least we as gamers can show respect for the victims of Newtown. It's just a statement. What better statement than to say gamers will put down their virtual weapons in honor of peace."

December 21st marks the day when gamers will stop playing online shooters, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4, and will take the day to pay respect to those who lost their lives just a week ago.

"A gesture like this shows that you give a damn," said Pearman. "I want gamers to unite and show they give a damn."
